Rider University Choir to present ‘Believe’ concert

Rider University Choir, conducted by Philip Orr, is set to present a holiday concert titled Believe.

The program features holiday favorites, including Angels We Have Heard on High, Believe from The Polar Express, Christmas Time is Here from A Charlie Brown Christmas, Goin’ to Bethlehem, Gesù Bambino and Go Tell it on the Mountain..

Established in 1959, the Rider University Choir performs repertoire that ranges from medieval to the modern, from formal, through folk, to popular styles, and always in performances of passion and integrity. Membership is drawn without audition from the entire Rider University community of students, faculty and staff.

Philip Orr brings 35 years professional experience in conducting, performing, composing and teaching to his position as conductor of the Rider University Choir. He is a s graduate of Westminster Choir College. The minister of music at Calvary Baptist Church in Hopewell, he has directed choirs of all ages and abilities for 30 years in churches of four denominations in four states.

Believe is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 in Gill Memorial Chapel on Rider University’s campus, 2083 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville. Admission is free.
