Princeton Day School is set to display World Within Worlds, an exhibition by author and illustrator David Wiesner, April 1 through 24 in the Anne Reid ‘72 Art Gallery.

An reception with the artist is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 18 at the gallery, 650 Great Road, Princeton.

Wiesner graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in illustration. He won the Caldecott Award for his children’s books Tuesday, The Three Pigs and Flotsam.

In World Within Worlds, Wiesner exhibits drawings, preliminary sketches and finished works from his personal collection. The exhibition features an animated video of his book Tuesday set to music by Paul McCartney.

The artist said in a statement that the exhibition focuses on the process of writing, drawing and creating a story.

World Within Worlds is part of the school’s Imagine the Possibilities program supported by the John D. Wallace, Jr. ’78 Memorial Guest Artist Series Fund, which began in 1996 to bring authors, illustrators and poets to Princeton Day School.

The exhibition is open to the public from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday when school is in session and by appointment on weekends. For an appointment, call (609) 924-6700.

The Anne Reid ’72 Art Gallery is part of the PDS’s arts wing dedicated to photography, ceramics, architecture and dance, as well as woodworking, set-building and performance art spaces.
