The Boathouse at Mercer Lake will be the site of the West Windsor Mayor’s Ball next month.

The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13th, from 7-11 p.m. and includes a cocktail hour, dinner, open bar, DJ and dancing, a silent auction, and the chance to buy 50/50 raffle tickets (drawing to be held at the annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m).

Guests will be entertained with performances by High School North’s strings ensemble and High School South’s a cappella group.

The ball is hosted by West Windsor Gives Back, an organization dedicated to building a more vibrant community spirit through charitable work and social events.

“We’re a new group that hit the ground running earlier this year,” said member Missy Pirrera. “Most of us had never even met before. It’s been really rewarding working on a committee that represents a diverse cross section of the community with no goal other than to create a greater sense of community in West Windsor.”

While the evening provides the opportunity for an entertaining night out, it will also raise money for the West Windsor Police Department, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

All proceeds will benefit the WWPD and will be used to purchase equipment for search and rescue operations, accident site reconstruction, crime scene analysis and active shooter investigations.

“The group is excited that we’ve been able to bring two new events to the community in our first year,” said Sanjana Gulati. “Dive into Summer at WaterWorks was a fun, free family event held in June. Now, we’re looking forward to doing something for the adults in our town with the ball at the Boathouse. It will be a fun night of dinner and dancing with old and new friends.”

“I’m excited that the event will include performances by students from both high schools and that so many of our local businesses have gotten on board as sponsors,” said Pam Grund. “It’s become a true community event.”

Tickets, which start at $119.18, can be purchased online at Eventbrite.com (search “West Windsor Mayor’s Ball”). Sponsorships are also available. Go to WestWindsorNJ.org for more information.
