The Central Jersey Choral Society (CJCS) invites singers of all ability levels that are seeking a creative and joyful outlet in their lives to join its community chorus as the organization begins a new season. A new member Open House is set to take place at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 31 at the Hope Presbyterian Church, 140 Denow Road, Lawrence.

One of Mercer County’s oldest arts organizations, CJCS members enjoy learning about the music, composers and their own musical abilities as they prepare and perform a variety of classical choral works under the direction of Artistic Director Christopher Loeffler.

For the coming season, CJCS will be rehearsing French Masterworks: Berlioz’s Messe Solennelle and Faure’s Requiem for performances in January 2016. Loeffler encourages singers of all levels to join. While some in CJCS are professionally trained, most are not and choir members enjoy the chance to improve their skills and each other’s company. No formal auditions are required.

Regular CJCS rehearsals are on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Hope Presbyterian Church.

More information is available at cjchoralsociety.org or by contacting CJCS President, Sarah Steward, at steward@cjchoralsociety.org or (609) 616-2427.
