Household Chemical and Electronic Waste Disposal Day set for June 28

Mercer County Improvement Authority is set to sponsor Household Chemical Electronic Waste Disposal Day on June 28.

The event is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at John T. Dempster Fire School at 350 Lawrence Station Road in Lawrence.

Electronic Waste Disposal Day is open to Mercer County residents only; attendees will need to show proof of residency, such as a driver’s license.

Acceptable household items include aerosol cans, used motor oil, propane gas tanks, pesticides and herbicides, car batteries, paint thinner, oil-based paint, stains and varnishes, gasoline, anti-freeze, driveway sealer, insect repellents, mercury and fluorescent and CFL bulbs.

Acceptable used electronic items for disposal include central processing units, modems, printers, keyboards, computer mouses, fax machines, copiers, circuit boards, televisions, monitors, electrical wire, stereo equipment, laptops and laptop peripheral equipment, scanners, phones/telecommunications equipment, microwave ovens, networking equipment, VCRs and camera equipment.
