Students, teachers and parents participated in Chapin School’s annual Loaves & Fishes program.

Through this program, the school community makes bagged lunches and hot meals for a service day at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Trenton on Feb. 23.

Students decorated 750 bags that were filled with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, juice box, apple sauce, chips, cookies and hot chocolate mix. One student wrote “remember someone in this world loves you” on a lunch bag.

The participants worked in Chapin’s family groups, which are comprised of cross-aged students, teacher and staff. Groups meet twice a month.

Prior to that day, the Parents’ Association raised more than $700 at a bake sale where customers ranged from parents to their children
