Arena Gymnastics team win state championship title

Arena Level 7 team won the New Jersey state champion title at a USA Gymnastics competition on April 6. The Hamilton-based team also earned 12 individual state titles.

In the 7 to 9 years old age group, Jenna Cashman won the New Jersey state title for vault, floor and all-around champion. She created a new state record with a score of 9.725 on floor and tied the all-around state record with a score of 38.45.

Angela Zhou won the title for balance beam and all-around champion in the 11 juniors age group. She also broke a state record with a score of 9.8 on beam.

Sarina Swain is the NJ vault champion in the 11 seniors age group.

In the age 12 juniors group Harriette Murtland won the vault, uneven bars, floor exercise and all-around championship. Raine Smith won the title for the balance beam.

Alexis Rubio won the all-around champion title in the 12 seniors age group.

Out of 197 girls who qualified for the state championships, Zhou took home number one for beam and all-around gymnast and Murtland for vault, bars and floor exercise.
