Taptoe at the Old Barracks Museum in Trenton.

The Fifes and Drums of the Old Barracks are set to present a sunset performance 8 p.m. July 13 and Aug. 3.

The group will perform a 18th century military taptoe, which is when the musick and the guard would march about a garrison town signaling the time for the taps to close and the soldiers to be back in their barracks.

The performance features marches from the American Revolutionary period.

The Barrack’s Band of Musick is set to perform British marches scored for an 18th century military band of music.

The event also includes a new additon; singers, Jennifer Bergevin, Robert Kramer and Andrew Monath are set to join the band to perform John Gay’s 1728 piece The Beggar’s Opera..

Visitors may bring lawn chairs or blankets. Special seating around the Barracks balconies with light refreshments are available for reservation.

The performance is set for the parade ground of the Old Barracks Museum, 101 Barrack St., Trenton.
