The Lawrence eight-year-old All Star team advanced to the final four in two baseball tournaments this summer.

The team finished fourth in the early 8 Sunnybrae tournament and third in the Bordentown Late 8 tournament.

During the Bordentown tournament, the All Stars defeated Cranbury/Plainsboro 2-1 to win third.

Nabeel Hasan was the starting pitcher for Lawrence and went four innings with 10 strike outs. In the fourth inning, Liam Collin took the mound and threw four strike outs.

A play by Ryan Willever and John Gunton helped the All Stars get out of the first inning without giving up a run.

In the second inning, Liam Collins, James Kildea Katie Ciuffreda, and Abby Monacchio all had walks to bring in the first run of the game.

During the third inning, Logan Crouthamel had a big hit to left field to bring in Gunton for the second run of the game.

Throughout the game, catcher Nate Duff held the runners on base to prevent any stolen bases.

In the first four Bordentown tournament games, the All Stars gave up two runs and had a total of 37 runs.
