Jeremy Rapaport-Stein and Timothy Brooks, both West Windsor residents, portrayed attorneys on Marshall Academy’s mock trial team on February 4 and their team took first place in the Mercer County championship of the Vincent J. Apruzzese High School Mock Trial Competition.

The team of eight homeschooled students includes Brooks, Rapaport-Stein, Nathan Johns, Rachel Johns, Caroline Lang, Anderson Monken, Maryam Trabelsi, and Arden Walker. They are coached by homeschool mothers, Barbara Rapaport and Cynthia Lang, and by a volunteer attorney, Katie Magee. They will compete for the state title at an upcoming regional match.

The students chose the name for the team in honor of Supreme Court Justices John Marshall and Thurgood Marshall.
