Cantu Challenged in Plainsboro Race

The Plainsboro GOP is mounting a challenge against longtime Plainsboro Mayor Peter Cantu for his seat on township committee.##M:[more]##

Republican Stacey Ziemanski, of Pheasant Hollow Drive, and Democrat Cantu were the only candidates filing by the April 11 deadline to be on the ballot for the June 7 primary election.

Cantu, who has received the endoresement of the Plainsboro Democratic Committee, has been a member of township committee since the 1970s and has served as mayor for 25 years. He is also currently the president of the New Jersey League of Municipalities.

Ziemanski could not be contacted regarding her candidacy.
