Two West Windsor council members have announced their support for Mayor Hemant Marathe and Councilwoman Linda Geevers in the Nov. 4 municipal election, along with council candidate Joe Charles.

Council members Andrea Mandel and Sonia Gawas citing the team’s leadership and experience on local issues in a statement released this week by the Marathe, Geevers, Charles campaign.

Mandel and Gawas said they have served alongside Marathe and Geevers for the past six years and commended their efforts in areas such as public safety, affordable housing planning, road improvements, business support, tax control and environmental protection.

They also noted Charles’ involvement in the 2023 “Vote No” campaign that opposed making West Windsor’s nonpartisan elections partisan, saying his organizational work contributed to the measure’s defeat.

“We don’t always agree with them, or even with each other,” the statement said. “We enjoy open discussions where we all recognize that the only factor in any decision is what is best for the residents of West Windsor.”
