Vote Independent

Your September 9 edition announces two slates for our upcoming “non-partisan” municipal council election: the Republican slate “Strong Leaders for West Windsor” and the Democratic slate “West Windsor Moving Forward.” Neither slate appears to offer any program. As apparently a spade cannot be called a spade we could play around a little with these phony names to have their differences highlighted. Should the Democratic team be called the “Weak Leaders for West Windsor” or the Republican team be called “West Windsor Moving Backwards”? Certainly a weak team moving forward sounds better than a strong team moving backwards. But as a Democratic supporter in state and national politics I may be biased. Perhaps the best option is just to vote for the independent with no apparent affiliation to a party.
