The Historical Society of West Windsor will be opening the Schenck Farmstead for its annual Holiday Tour on Saturday, Dec. 6 and Sunday, Dec. 7. The farmhouse will be fully decorated for the holidays and the English-Dutch barn, wagon house and one-room schoolhouse will also be open to tour.

According to the Historical Society, the Schenck family purchased 6,000 acres of township property from William Penn’s heirs in 1737. That land was divided among family members, and in 1899, John Schenck purchased the approximately 122 acres now known as the Schenck Farm. In 1971, the land was sold to Max Zaitz, who donated it to the township in 1991.

The event is free and open to the public, but donations are appreciated. For more information contact Mary Schenck at (609) 799-1278.
