Lawrence High School’s Business and International Studies Academy students are set to present the first Cardinal Shark Tank Competition 7 to 9 p.m. April 3 in the high school auditorium.

Modeled after the popular television show Shark Tank, contestants, also know as entrepreneurs, will try to persuade the wealthy sharks to “invest” in the contestants’ unique products.

Both contestants and sharks will be judged by volunteers from businesses including Edison Ventures, Santander Bank, The Explorers Passage, Deloitte & Touche, ETS and Northwest Mutual.

Contestants include LHS students Shiwanee Rangaswamy, Zach Weyand, Mike Marsh, Ian Rosenast, Andrew Takasugi and John Gow, Ben Franklin Elementary student Chris Turnbull and his BF Buddies, and Lawrence Intermediate students Emily and Lyla Allen, Chris Casole, Marley Thomas and Jessica Harbaugh.

Teachers Matt Davis, Sean Carney, Chris Gresko, Dana Williams and Erika Stubbs will also pose as contestants.

The sharks are LHS teachers Jametta Holloway, Victoria Chludzinski, Anthony Ammirata and Greg Meehl and students Thomas Ikeda, Tithi Patel, Anthony Scardelletti and Hamza Asif.

Tickets are $5 at the door. Half the proceeds benefit the academy’s charity partner, Special Olympics of New Jersey.
