Robert Wood Johnston University Hospital Hamilton appointed a new senior vice president Dec. 3.

Patricia Palmieri, R.Ph. MBA, was appointed senior vice president and chief operating and strategy officer at RWJ Hamilton. Palmieri was the vice president of operations at RWJ New Brunswick where she worked since 2006.

Palimeri earned a degree in pharmacy from Rutgers University and an MBA from Drexel University. Before working at RWJ New Brunswick she had positions at AtlanticCare and Cardinal Health.

“With an extensive background in health care, her record of accomplishments in the Robert Wood Johnson Health System, and family roots in Mercer County, Patty is a perfect fit for RWJ Hamilton,” Skip Cimino, president and CEO of RWJ Hamilton, said.

Palimeri’s responsibilities include developing strategic programs and partnerships, providing leadership of operations, physician practices, and surgical and patient care services.

Born and raised in the Trenton/Hamilton area, Palmieri has strong ties to the community.

“My family lives in Hamilton Township and I am excited to join our hometown hospital. These are exciting times for RWJ. We are on the cusp of delivering care in a whole new environment with health care reform upon us,” Palmieri said.
