A group of Ben Franklin Elementary School moms joined forces to give back to a neighboring organization, the Mount Carmel Guild.

Lawrenceville residents Michele Bowes, Anna White, Dawn Sanjek, Jenn Byrnes, Lindsey Bohra, Ivy Cohen, Cricket Allen, Melissa Przelski, Chrissy Neuger, Suzanne Maloney, Vanessa Kelley and Kerri Penders raised $650 for the organization by emailing friends and family asking for donations.

The Mount Carmel Guild has been assisting those in need in Mercer County since 1920 by providing basic needs, such as food, medical care, or housing. In 2012, they provided 2,120 in-home health care to elderly patients.

Currently, the organization provides emergency assistance to 8,000 families.

More information is online at mtcarmelguild.org.
