The Lawrence Township Education Foundation held its third annual Handbag Bingo fundraiser on Friday, April 5. Over 300 women played bingo for a chance to win designer handbags. Over $30,000 was raised to help further the mission of the organization: to foster educational excellence, creativity and achievement in the Lawrence Township Public Schools.

Bingo players were asked to donate gently used handbags to Dress for Success Mercer County at the event. Close to 200 bags were collected to benefit the organization. Dress for Success Mercer County promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help them thrive in work and in life. The donated handbags will be placed in the Dress for Success boutique on Princeton Pike and given to women who need clothing, shoes, and accessories for entering the workplace.

“LTEF felt it was a natural fit to integrate this collection for Dress for Success during our bingo event and hopes that it contributes to their mission,” said LTEF Board Vice President Kelly Bidle. “We were thrilled with the generosity of our Bingo event attendees and thank them for their support of both LTEF and Dress for Success.”
