At the beginning of the academic year, Princeton Day School announced the new PDS REx Program, a science research experience program for Upper School students.
In the REx program, students in 11th grade have the opportunity to take a science course where they explore the nature and processes of scientific discovery through guided inquiry, dynamic lessons, and rich discussions. Through independent study, students come to choose a field that resonates with them.
Upper School biology teacher Carrie Norin recently announced that all seven of her current REx students have now been accepted into summer internships at some of the nation’s most prestigious university labs this summer, including Walter Emann of Hopewell.
Emann is set to do an internship with Dr. Joel Kingsolver in the department of biology on plant-insect interactions and phenotypic plasticity at the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill.
Other internship students include Raina Kasera (Princeton), Eleanor Myers (Belle Mead), Angela Talusan (Hillsborough), Jacob Tharayil (Bordentown), Elsie Wang (Princeton) and Lydia Wu (Princeton).
