A film created by Pennington School students won best comedy at Green Mountain Film Festival’s High School Filmmakers Showcase April 14.
Pennington’s film, The Puppet, was one of 22 films screened at the festival sponsored by Catamount Arts in St. Johnsbury, Vt.
Senior James Yeager of East Windsor wrote and acted in the film. It was directed by seniors Madeleine Derveloy of Belle Mead and Dane Kunkel of Yardley, Pa. and produced by junior Katharine Rintala of New Hope, Pa.
Actors include Alexandra Cooper of Newtown, Pa. and Matthew Elefante of New Hope, Pa.
Seniors Hope MacKenzie, Leigh Honigman, Megan McMichael and Ali Cellars were also involved in the production.
Video production teacher Joe Potorski, of Pennington, attended the festival.
“The Pennington video team worked hard on ‘The Puppet,’ doing a lot of careful preparation to make Jimmy’s screenplay come to life so effectively,” Potorski said in a statement, “there were a number of excellent films at the festival, and I’m pleased that the festival judges recognized our students’ talents.”
Short films screened at the festival were submitted from teenagers from the U.S., Canada and other countries.
