Steinert High School art students and teacher Doug Cooper work to paint a mural at Donuts Time Café in Hamilton.

The mural was completed by Cooper and his advanced art students.

Steinert High School art teacher Doug Cooper and some of his students recently painted a mural at Donuts Time Café in Hamilton. The cafe opened six months ago and is located at 1280 Route 33 across from the Texas Road House.

Hamilton resident Rebecca Solayman owns Donuts Time Café with her husband Amro Solayman. The two were looking for a way to decorate the store and engage the community so they decided to create the mural.

The mural features different donuts and a cup of coffee that have come to life and are smiling and happy. Students in all levels of Cooper’s art classes helped with the beginning stages of the painting. For the final touches, Cooper and a few of his more advanced students helped bring the mural to life.

Donuts Time Café specializes in fresh donuts with flavors like maple bacon, salted caramel, cheesecake and boston cream. They also serve breakfast and lunch. The cafe is open Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
