Trenton’s 75th annual Solemn Novena to be held Oct. 20 to 28

The annual Solemn Novena in honor of Saint Jude will be held from Oct. 20 to 28 at the Saint Michael Church, 1106 Brunwsick Avenue, Trenton.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Saint Jude Novena, a period of special grace and blessing for people in the greater Trenton area. This long standing tradition began at Saint Michael’s Church in 1939. It was delivered by Father Ladislas Rakvica in thanksgiving for his own recovery from a near fatal illness.

Father Angelo Camacho will be the Novena Preacher. Services will take place weekdays a 8 and 9:15 a.m., and at 4 and 7 p.m. Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will be a part of the 7 p.m. service. On Saturday Novena services will be held at 8 and 9:15 a.m. and during the Saturday Vigil Mass at 6 p.m. On Sunday the Novena will be a part of the 8:45 a.m. mass only.

A buffet will follow the 6 p.m. mass on Sat. Oct. 25. Tickets can be purchased for $15 by calling Christine Barranco at 359-9977.
