Library screens French films

Princeton Public Library is set to present a French cinema series January through February.

Four films with English subtitles are set to be screened in the library’s community room at 7:00 p.m..

Les Choristes (The Chorus) is set for Jan. 7. The library said the film is about a new teacher at a boarding school for troubled boys who works to positively affect the students’ lives through music

Le Pacte Des Loups (The Brotherhood of the Wolf) is set for Jan. 14. The library said the film is set in 18th-century France. The story is about the Chefalier de Fronsad and his Native American friend Mani who are sent by the king to the Gevaudan province to investigate the killing of hundreds by a mysterious beast..

8 Femmes (Eight Women) is set for Feb. 4. The library said the film is the story of eight women who are all suspects in the death of a man with whom they live.

La Haine (The Hate) is set for Feb. 18. The library said the film looks at the racial and cultural volatility in modern-day France through the story of three young friends and their struggle to live in the suburbs of Paris.
