Local resident to present ‘Hair’

Mercer County Community College students are set to present the musical Hair.

Hair intertwines the stories of Claude, who is wrestling with what to do about his draft notice, Berger, who urges him to resist, and the Tribe, that just wants to “tune in, turn on and drop out.”

The story is embellished with musical numbers such as the title song Hair, as well as Aquarius, Easy to Be Hard, Let the Sunshine In, and Good Morning Starshine.

Starring in “Hair” are: Reginald Brockington (Hamilton Township) as Hud, Dan Johnson (Ewing) as Berger, Mariah King (Dayton) as Crissy, Liz Lackey (Hamilton Township) as Sheila, Jonathan V. Polanco of (Hamilton Township) as Claude, Joe Schachter (East Windsor) as Woof and Tonya Treadwell (Ewing) as Dionne.

Tribe members include Mike Miele (Belle Mead), Maria Laurenti (Chesterfield), Seret Gomez-Ryan, Domonique Jarrett (East Windsor), Nicholas Andrejco, Patrick Gallagher, Richard Ward (Hamilton Township), Alden Stewart (Lambertville), Tia Brown, Christian DiTullio, Zoe Morrison (Lawrence Township), Darrell J. Watts (Plainsboro), Alex Kornberg (Princeton), Caroline Scott (Skillman), Dwayne Barnes, Amariss White (Trenton), and Elizabeth Koenig (Yardley, Pa.).

Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. April 25, 26, May 2 and 3; and 2 p.m. April 27 and May 4 at Kelsey Theatre, located on MCCC’s West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. A reception with the cast and crew is set to follow the opening night performance on April 25.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, and $16 for students and children.
