The annual Indo-American Fair returns to the festival grounds at Mercer County Park on Aug. 30 and 31.

The fair, which debuted in 2003, is organized by Shirdi Sai Dham, Inc., a cultural and religious non-profit organization, in order to celebrate and share the art, culture and heritage of India.

The festival will feature a wide variety of live entertainment and cultural programs. These include a dance competition and performances of regional dances and the dhol (an Indian double-sided barrel drum).

The main event at this year’s fair is a live performance by Prashant Tamang and Amit Paul, the winner and runner-up of the third season of Indian Idol.

Also being showcased at the fair is an array of South Asian arts and crafts including paintings, handicrafts, artistic brass work, costume jewelry and traditional dress.

The event is one of the largest festivals celebrating Indian culture in the United States and attracts vendors who sell crafts and gift items from all over the country.

Indian food, kids rides, mehendi (body decoration done in henna ink) and a raffle can all be found at the fair as well. The event is open to the public.

Indo-American Fair Takes place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Mercer County Park, located at 334 South Post Road in West Windsor. The rain date is September 1.

Admission is $2.
