A bridge replacement project at the Assunpink Creek in Lawrence will shut down part of Bakers Basin Road for approximately four months.

The project is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, September 10, according to a statement from Lawrence Township.

The bridge will be closed to all vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians. Local traffic going to local businesses, Lawrence Township Public Works or the D&R Canal Path will have access up to the closure location on either side, but will not be able to cross over the Assunpink Creek.

The detour route for Bakers Basin Road westbound is Route 1 North to Grover’s Mill Road to Quaker Bridge Road to Lawrence Station Road, with trucks being detoured to Young’s Road.

The detour for Bakers Basin Road eastbound is Basin Road to Laura Avenue to Carnegie Road to Route 1. All detour routes will be posted.
