The 11th annual Lawrenceville Big Red Race is set for May 4.

The race has raised more than $100,000 to send underserved Lawrence Township children to the Lawrenceville School Camp, a residential summer camp in Warren County.

A host of awards are up for grabs, including a special treat for the Lawrence Township family with the most participants in the adult 5K and kid’s race.

The adult 5K race is scheduled to begin 10:15 a.m. on the school campus, 2500 Main St., Lawrenceville.

Races, ranging from 25 meters to a half mile, are set to be available for kids ages three to 11 starting at 9 a.m. Each child will receive a finisher’s medal and a t-shirt.

Participants are encouraged to pre-register by April 28 to receive a 2014 Big Red Race t-shirt.

There is a $20 non-refundable entry fee for adults; the fee is $25 on race day.

The advance entry fee for runners ages 12 to 17 is $10; the fee is $15 on race day.

In lieu of a $5 entry fee, runners under age 12 may bring a food donation.

Race participants are also encouraged to bring canned food items, which will be donated to local nonprofit organizations fighting hunger.
