VOICES Chorale will deliver holiday concert “Christmastide” at three different locations this month. Alongside French and English carols, spirituals and Danial Pinkham’s Christmas Cantata, VOICES Chorale and the chamber group, Sotto Voce, will present arragements by Moses Hogan, the French composer Gevaert and the American Mack Wilberg. The program will also feature up-tempo Baroque pieces by Schütz and Sweelinck and a contemporary cantata for chorus and organ. The guest soloist is Rochelle Ellis, who will perform “Noël” by Gabriel Fauré and “The Little Baby” by Lena McLin, as well as joining VOICES for special numbers.
A brass quartet will perform in Pinkham’s Christmas Cantata and will accompany the audience in singing favorite carols. Also performing are members of the Saint Mark Handbell Choir under the direction of Bill Garret. The pianist will be Joshua Wilson and organist, Alejandro Consolación II.
Assembled singers and instrumentalists will be conducted by Dr. Lyn Ransom, Founder and Music Director of VOICES, and Emily Vite, a graduate of St. Olaf College and VOICES’ Assistant Conductor.
Performances will take place on Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Princeton; Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. at the St. John’s Methodist Church, Ivyland, PA; and Dec. 20 at 3 p.m. at the Hopewell Presbyterian Church, Hopewell.

VOICES Chorale is an auditioned chorus with 50 members from New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Music director Dr. Lyn Ransom founded the chorale twenty-two years ago in order to perform outstanding music, inspire audiences, and provide performance opportunities for skilled community singers. The chorale performs an unusually varied repertoire, including masterworks and premieres by American composers, with a three-concert series each season in the Princeton area and in Bucks County, PA.
