The bridge portion of Route 31 in Pennington over the CSX Railroad will be partially closed for five days on or about Thursday, July 26 for concrete deck pour construction.

According to a New Jersey Department of Transportation notice sent to Pennington Borough, Route 31 will be partially closed from July 26, starting at 6 a.m., through Monday, July 30.

All truck traffic will be detoured at Route 295 or Route 202. No truck traffic will be permitted on Route 31 between Pennington Titusville Road and Ingleside Avenue.

All southbound car traffic will be detoured at the intersection of Route 31 and Pennington Titusville Road (County Road 624).

Borough officials ask that drivers plan an alternate route due to expected heavy traffic in the area of Route 31 and Delaware Avenue. There may be heavy traffic on Main Street in Pennington as a result of this detour.

This story was updated to reflect a date change by the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
