The Church of Saint George will celebrate Earth Day with a performance by the 12:30 Mass Band from the Church of Saint Ann in Lawrenceville.

The free concert will begin at 7 p.m. at the church, located at 1370 River Road, Titusville on Saturday, April 22.

The 12:30 Mass Band has been providing both liturgical and coffee house music for ten years. During the concert, the band will perform a variety of musical works that center on the environment and creation, and will celebrate the Delaware River that flows by the Church.

In addition to the concert, environmentalist groups are invited to bring literature for distribution.

Event organizers said the concert was inspired by Pope Francis’ recent letter on the environment, “On Care For Our Common Home (Laudato Si).” The letter was addressed to all people of good will and has called the church to a better understanding of their responsibility to care for the Earth.
