Pennington Dance to offer workshop on Broadway choreography

Former Broadway dancer Mark Hoebee will lead an Original Broadway Repertoire Workshop at Pennington Dance.

The celebrate it 35th year, Pennington Dance is offering an Original Broadway Repertoire Worshop on Saturday, March 21 from 2:15 to 4:15 p.m.

The workshop will be led by Mark Hoebee, former Broadway performer and the current producing artistic director at Paper Mill Playhouse.

Hoebee has worked with legendary choreographers including Jerome Robbins, Michael Bennett and Bob Fosse. He will share his personal knowledge and insight on the works of these choreographers and how their shows changed the shape of Broadway. He will also provide technical instruction for the original choreography from shows like West Side Story, A Chorus Line and Sweet Charity.

The workshop costs $50 is open to any dance student age 12 to adult. Registration is required.

All funds from the workshop will support the Himalayan Institute’s Total Health Program which provides health clinics and wide-scale community health education in Cameroon, West Africa.

Pennington Dance is located at Cyrus Lodge Studio on 131 Burd Street in Pennington.
