Off-Broadstreet Theatre is set to present a Christmas party-themed mystery called The Game’s Afoot.

The Game’s Afoot, also known as Holmes for the Holidays, is set at a Christmas party William Gillette throwing for his cast mates. During the party he dons his Sherlock Holmes character in hopes of solving several murders.

Steve Decker of Morrisville, Pa., is set to star as William Gillette, who has been shot in the arm while on stage two weeks earlier. Gillette’s best friend and comrade in detective work is Felix Geisel played by Barry Abramowitz of Lawrenceville. Felix’s wife, Madge Geisel, will be played by OBT newcomer Lauren Suchenski of Princeton.

Others invited to join in the holiday festivities are Aggie Wheeler and Simon Bright — young actors who arrive to the party with their own secrets. Aggie Wheeler is played by Tappany Hochman of Hopewell and Simon Bright is played by John Bergeron of Pennington. Daria Chase, a self-confident and snide theatre critic who often tries to blackmail actors is also included in the evening’s events and is played Wendy Yazujian of Morrisville, Pa.

Martha Gillette, William’s dotty mother who sometimes finds Gillette’s games exasperating is played by Virginia Barrie of Ewing. Mayhem sets in when Inspector Goring is called to the house to investigate a murder that may not have happened. Kathy Garafano of Morrisville, Pa., is set to play the inspector.

Performances of The Game’s Afoot are scheduled weekends Nov. 8 through Dec. 14. Show are set to begin 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Doors open one hour before showtime for dessert, included in the price of the ticket.

Tickets are $29.50 for Friday and Sunday shows and $31.50 for Saturday shows. There is a Senior rate of $27 for Sunday performances.

Off-Broadstreet Theatre is located at 5 South Greenwood Ave., PO Box 359, Hopewell.
