The Hopewell Harvest Fair board of trustees has announced the winner of the annual Cover Art Contest.

Susan Kleinschmidt was awarded first place for her depiction of the Hopewell gazebo, painted on wood. A retired nurse and artist, Kleinschmidt received a $250 prize.

Her work will appear on the Hopewell Harvest Fair Almanac, which will be available locally in late August.

The Harvest Fair is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20, from 9:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hopewell Elementary School. The annual event raises funds for local nonprofit organizations and includes contests, live music, children’s activities, food and handmade goods.

Organizers say that since its inception, the Hopewell Harvest Fair Community Grant Program has distributed more than $225,000 to local groups including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, HomeFront, PTOs, The Chubby’s Project and the Sourland Conservancy.
