The Hamilton Township Fire Division gathered on Nov. 8 to remember and honor fallen firefighter Brian D. Sutton, Sr., on the 30th anniversary of his death in the line of duty.

Hamilton Township has renamed Olivia Avenue — formerly signed as Olivia Street — to Brian Sutton Sr. Way in Sutton’s honor. Hamilton Township Fire Division No. 4 is located on Olivia Street/Brian Sutton Sr. Way.

Sutton was a member of Enterprise Fire Company at the time of his death. According to the U.S. Fire Administration, Sutton was stricken by a heart attack as he was hooking up to a hydrant during pump operations at a house fire.

Sutton is also honored at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
