The Roebling Museum will host its Emily Roelbing STEAM Day Camp, Aug. 6 to 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Young minds can explore engineering, technology and history at the museum.

Named for Emily Warren Roebling, the wife of Washington Roebling, who helped to build the Brooklyn Bridge and became widely regarded as the world’s first female field engineer, the camp is open to elementary and middle school girls and boys in 5th thru 8th grades. Guided by experienced STEAM and museum educators, students will discover the science of bridge, civil and structural engineering. They will also learn about the history of the Roebling factory, village, and workers. Activities during the week will include a field trip, hands-on STEM labs and experiments, and opportunities to meet STEM/STEAM professionals.

Camp registration forms are available on the museum’s website or at the museum. Tuition for the week includes daily lunch and snacks, and is $250 per camper for non-members, $230 per camper for members. Camp tuition scholarships are available for students eligible for free and reduced lunch. Parents or guardians seeking camp tuition support are asked to provide a written request, addressed to the camp director. Email Caren Cronin, camp director, at caren.cronin@roeblingmuseum.org for more information.

For more information, call the museum at (609) 499-7200 or visit roeblingmuseum.org. The museum is located at 100 Second Ave. in Roebling. Ample parking is available in the Museum lot off Hornberger Avenue, adjacent to the Roebling Station River Line parking area.
