The Farnsworth Gallery, owned and operated by Martha Press, in Bordentown City, is set to host two springtime events. The first artful event, “A Spring Fling,” is set to be held Saturday and Sunday, April 13 and 14, the second annual “Paint the Town” Plein Air art show and sale is scheduled for June 7-9. The Spring Fling is a premiere event for the Farnsworth Gallery. Participating artists will be focusing their artworks on the splendor and glory of spring. Live music is set to be performed by area talent at various time on both days. The event kicks off with a painting demonstration and discussion on Saturday at 1 p.m. by professional artist Arlene Marcoe on “Painting a Still Life.” Following that demonstration, a wine tasting is scheduled from 4-7 p.m., sponsored by the Medford Lakes Country Club and set to feature some local and special wine vintages. The Spring Fling continues Sunday, April 14 at 1 p.m. with a second art demonstration and instructional demonstration by local professional artist Debbie Pey, about “Working with Paper and Collage.” Following the demonstration, an afternoon tea and dessert will be offered at the gallery at 4 p.m. At the June 7-9 event, artists may once again “Paint the Town.” Artists will move their studios outdoors to work “en plein air” in various media—oil, watercolor, photography and acrylics—in scenic locations in Bordentown. The event will end with an outdoor exhibit and sale June 9 at 2 p.m. on Farnsworth and Rail Road Avenues, adjacent to the Farnsworth House restaurant.
