Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre will present La Cage aux Folles for a two weekend run opening June 19. Performances are Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 p.m. through June 28. WCOAT is located inside Washington Crossing State Park at 355 Washinton Crossing-Pennington Road in Titusville.

After twenty years of un-wedded bliss, Georges and Alban, two men partnered for better or worse get a bit of both when Georges’ son announces his impending marriage to the daughter of a bigoted, narrow-minded politician. Alban tries to help by making a perfect family but the situation is further complicated due to the fact that the couple runs a drag nightclub in St. Tropez where Alban is the star performer Zaza. Georges reluctantly agrees to masquerade as “normal” when he meets the family of the bride-to-be but Alban has other plans.

La Cage aux Folles features the humor of Harvey Fierstein and a musical score by Jerry Herman. Songs include “The Best of Times,” “Song in the Sand” and “I Am What I Am.”

Cast includes Michael Moeller as Alban/Zaza, a role he has played numerous times, and David Whiteman as Georges. Both actors have previously performed at WCOAT in such productions as Gypsy, The Wizard of Oz, Young Frankenstein and A Christmas Carol.

Tickets to the performances are $15 for adults, $10 for children ages 12 and under and $12 for senior citizens ages 65 and older. Tickets can be purchase at the Open Air Theatre Box Office a half-hour prior to the performance. Group discounts are available.
