Little League

West Windsor Little League 11s. A loss to Robbinsville, 14-4, on July 26, in the District 12 title game. Kevin Murphy hit an RBI single. George Revock hit a solo home run.

Sports Briefs

Princeton Junction resident Emma Levy won bronze medals in opens ingles and doubles at the Maccabiah Games in Israel. Teaming with another New Jersey resident, she also took the open doubles championship at the James E. Cryan Tournament. She will play tennis for Tulane University.

West Windsor resident Rebecca Lewinson took three medals — gold in the 200 breaststroke, silver as part of the 400 medley relay, and bronze in the 100 breaststroke — at the Maccabiah Games in Israel.

West Windsor resident Amanda Grant, a junior at South, finished 8th in the 50-meter breaststroke at the YMCA National Long Course Swimming Championships in Maryland. Grant swims for the Hamilton Aquatic Club. She also finished 22nd in the 100-meter breaststroke. Gabrielle Giambagno and Meredith Ketchmark, of High School South, also swim for Hamilton Aquatic Club. As part of the women’s 800 freestyle relay team, they finished 34th.

Local residents were key in the X-Cel Swimming team’s success at the 13 & Over Silver and Bronze Long Course Championships in Piscataway at the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center at Rutgers University from July 25 to 26.

In the girls 15 and over division, Cori Michibata, who also swims for South, placed third in the 50 free with a time of 29.45 and sixth in the 200 IM with a time of 2:36.31. Daniel Druckman, who swims for South, placed fourth in the 800 free with a time of 9:48.18. In the 15 and over girls 200 medley relay, X-Cel’s team placed sixth, with a time of 2:20.31. Kelly Covey, who swims for North, and Michibata were part of that team.

In the 15 and over boys division, the 200 medley relay team placed sixth with a time of 2:10.66. Alex Huang, who swims for South, was part of that team. X-Cel also placed eighth in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:59.77. Huang was also part of that team.

X-Cel Swimming program, based out of Princeton Univeristy, is a USA Swimming team.

West Windsor resident Matt Davidson compiled a 67-71-66-67, for a total of 273, at the Columbia Championship of the eGolf Professional Tour at the Columbia Country Club, for 10th place. He earned $5,”360 as a result. Par is 71
