Robbinsville Mayor Dave Fried signed an executive order Friday declaring Aug. 1 to Aug. 7 “Police Appreciation Week” throughout the township.
Blue ribbons and blue lights will be prominently featured at all municipal buildings, including the Municipal Building, police headquarters, senior center, the Department of Public Works and the fire department.
Residents and businesses are invited to show their support and appreciation for our law enforcement officers with blue ribbons and navy blue lights adorning their properties beginning Monday, Aug. 1 through Sunday, Aug. 7.
Local businesses wishing to show their support with window signs can pick them up at on the second floor of the Township Municipal Building at 1 Washington Blvd. and at Police Headquarters, 1117 Route 130 North, beginning Monday.
“Showing our appreciation to police officers in Robbinsville and across the country—men and women who put their lives on the line for us every day—is something we are very passionate about,’’ Fried said. “The anti-law enforcement sentiment currently gripping our nation absolutely has to end. Robbinsville wants to do everything it can to help achieve that goal.”
The RPD once again is proud to host National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 2 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. outside of police headquarters. The primary parking entrance for the event is Folsom Way and Robbinsville-Allentown Road (Route 526).
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live.
There will be free food, free kids games, a demonstration by the fire department, a petting zoo, inflatables, firetruck rides, police station tours, vendors from many civic organizations, vintage cars and more.
