More than 240 singers from Grover Middle School’s choirs performed in a benefit concert for the music program at the Hugh J. Boyd School in Seaside Heights. They raised more than $1,800 to benefit the music program at Boyd School. All of the school’s instruments and music classroom supplies were lost when the school was flooded during Super Storm Sandy.

Russo’s Music Center also donated 50 drum sticks and a full-size digital keyboard and stand. Louise Haemmerle and Jodi Johnston, Grover music teachers, visited Boyd School to donate the money and instruments.

The students and faculty of Boyd School spent most of the school year in a nearby high school while their building was being repaired. They are hopeful about a return to their newly renovated building.
