Mercer County 4-H member speaks at state convention

Allentown resident Alex Byrnes spoke at the New Jersey State Agricultural Convention in Atlantic City Feb. 5.

Byrnes shared his experience with the Clever Clovers of Mercer County 4-H organization. He said the group allowed him to learn what he is passionate about and explore new ideas.

He spoke with Medford resident Meredith McBride, the Burlington County Fair Queen, who is a member of the 4-H public speaking club.

Both Byrnes and McBride said they gained important life skills such as citizenship, responsibility, leadership and respect through attending national trips and taking leadership positions in 4-H.
