Michael Wu, an eighth grade student at Grover Middle School, is on his way to the Mathcounts national competition. He took the first place award in New Jersey on Saturday, March 10. The event, coordinated by members of the New Jersey Society of Professional Engineers, took place on Rutgers University’s Busch campus in Piscataway.##M:[more]##

The Nationals will be held in May in Fort Worth, Texas. Last year Daesun Yim of West Windsor, then an eighth grade student at Community Middle School, won the national individual title, along with winning an $8,”000 college scholarship, a trip to U.S. Space Camp, and a notebook computer. (The News, May 26, 2006). Yim was part of the New Jersey team including Grover Middle School students Wu and Ming-Ming Tran.
