The Klez Dispensers, an eight-piece ensemble featuring clarinet, trumpet, saxophone, violin, piano, bass, drums, and vocals, was formed in 1998 at Princeton University by Alex Kontorovich, West Windsor-Plainsboro High School, Class of 1997. The band has performed at Satalla, Major, and CBGBs in New York City, and in more far-flung locales including London. Their CDs include Indispensable and New Jersey Freylekhs, that recently was awarded best klezmer album of the year in the Just Plain Folks Music Awards. www.klezdispensers.com.
