Fred Deardon, a guidance counselor at High School North, received the Humanitarian Award from the Mercer County Professional Counselor’s Association. The award is to “recognize the counselor who has gone over and above what is expected of a school counselor.”

Lisa Miller, a retired counselor at Community Middle School, received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the association. She was “recognized as a school counselor who has devoted her life to school counseling and has exhibited extraordinary dedication and service to students, schools, staff, and community.”

They were recognized at the awards dinner held at Amalfi’s Restaurant in Lawrenceville on May 12.
