Robbinsville’s Air-Mods Flight Center is set to host AeroCamp, where middle and high school students can learn to fly an aircraft.

Through basic and advanced levels, camp instructors teach participants about aerospace, engineering fundamentals and the process of flight, as well as puts campers front seat to fly the aircraft.

Basic AeroCamp is designed for middle school students. It offers campers some craft and creative activities, beginner insight into the world of aviation and processes of flight and includes one and a half hours of in-flight lessons.

The camp is scheduled for July 15 through July 19.

Advanced AeroCamp is aimed toward high school students. This camp dives further into the details and mechanics of flight. These students get three hours of in-flight lessons.

The advanced session is scheduled for July 8 through July 12.

During both sessions, campers fly out to aviation museums, visit various airport attractions, go for lunch and swim in an airplane shaped pool.

Additionally, Air-Mods is set to host a program called AeroSolo, for students age 16 and older, which prepares students for their first flight alone in only two weeks. AreoSolo is scheduled for Monday through Friday from July 22 though August 2.

This is Air-Mods’ third year running the program, which is endorsed and was created by the Flight School Association of North America. Air-Mods became one of the first flight schools accredited by FSANA in 2012. The association has a committee dedicated solely to AeroCamp, to help get kids involved in the aerospace field.
