Councilman Charles Morgan recently accused Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh of delaying the council-mandated process of hiring a special attorney to handle issues related to the township’s redevelopment.##M:[more]## Over a month after it was decided that the position would be created, the township has placed an ad for the office.

Council decided on July 9 that Township Attorney Michael Herbert would remain in his position, but that a special redevelopment counsel would be hired pursuant to a mayoral nomination and counsel approval. Morgan had led a charge to replace Herbert, but council reached a compromise after Hsueh backed Herbert, who was appointed for a four-year term that runs concurrent with the mayor’s.

The ad asks that proposals be sent to township business administrator Christopher Marion by Thursday, September 27.
