Hope Loves Company is hosting a benefit concert Saturday, March 16 at Union Fire Company and Rescue Squad Ballroom in Titusville.

Hope Loves Company was founded by Titusville’s Jodi O’Donnell-Ames, who lost her husband to ALS in 2001. The organization is the only nonprofit in the United States with the mission to provide both emotional and educational support to children and young adults who have had or have a loved one battling ALS.

The March 16 Night of Hope event will include music by nine-piece band Friends Classic Rock, food from local restaurants, silent auction prizes, and the opportunity to meet some of the Hope Loves Company children and young ambassadors.

Enjoy culinary samples from a variety of local chefs including Cugino’s Italian Market, Vito’s Pizza, Pru Thai, Emily’s Cafe and Catering and Tea-for-All. Silent auction prizes include donated items from Orion Jewelry Studio and Diana Smires Jewelry, Flyer’s Skate Zone and Morey’s Piers.

Four special Hope Loves Company guests will be honored this year for their service and commitment to the Hope Loves Company mission.

Hope Loves Company’s premier program is Camp HLC, a free weekend retreat for children and their families who are affected by ALS. The camp provides encouragement and support along with the fun activities. Local families return to the New Jersey camp held at Fairview Lakes YMCA each year in May. Camp HLC also takes place in Indiana, Massachusetts, Illinois, Florida and California.

ALS is a neuromuscular disease that causes damage to the nerve cells controlling voluntary muscle movement. Currently, there is no known cause or cure for ALS. There are approximately 30,000 patients in the United States who live with ALS and it is estimated that 85 percent of them have children.

The Night of Hope begins at 6 p.m. and general admission is $35, seniors and students are $15. Tickets can be purchased online, and all proceeds from the event will benefit the organization’s cause. For more information about the nonprofit, visit hopelovescompany.org or call (609) 730-1144.
