Opioid abuse forum to be held April 9 in Robbinsville

On Tuesday, April 9, Robbinsville Township will host a “Knock Out Opioid Abuse” town hall meeting at the Senior Center (1117 Route 130) in coordination with the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey.

Organized with the Horizon Foundation for New Jersey in partnership with the township’s C.A.R.E. program, the meeting will focus on the issue of prescription drug dependency and heroin abuse, including collaboration from local prevention and treatment organizations, as well as local and county law enforcement, government and medical community leaders.

Residents of Robbinsville and surrounding area are invited to join the conversation, which will included new information and the latest issues surrounding the opioid abuse crisis.

Panel members will include: Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri, chairman of psychiatry department at Penn Medicine Dr. Neal Schofield, Robbinsville Township Mayor Dave Fried, Minister Edgar Shaffer of First Baptist Church, Marissa Esposito who is in recovery thanks to the C.A.R.E. program, and Legacy Treatment Center CEO Roy Leitstein.
