Marty Flynn was named the 2017 CYO Man of the Year, and the Hamilton resident was honored at the CYO Golf Classic earlier this month.

A longtime supporter of the CYO of Mercer County, Flynn is the Hamilton Township director of economic development. Previously, he was the athletic director at the West Windsor-Plainsboro school district and a teacher and coach within the Hamilton school district.

Flynn was born and raised in Trenton, graduating from St. Anthony’s High School. He lives in Hamilton with his wife Mary Ann. Together they have three children and three grandchildren.

Thomas Mladenetz, CYO president, said Flynn has a lifetime affiliation with the CYO. He attended the Yardville camp as a child and played in the CYO basketball league.

“As a volunteer, he has formerly served on the CYO Board of Trustees and also is a member of the CYO Basketball Hall of Fame Committee,” Mladenetz said. “For all he has done for the CYO, as well as being a well respected community leader, [we] felt Marty was most deserving of this honor.”

Flynn was honored at the CYO Golf Classic at Mountain View Golf Course on Oct. 5. To learn more about CYO, visit cyomercer.org.
