WW-P high schools North and South will present their annual fall plays from Thursday to Saturday, Nov. 16 to 18.
High School North will perform three intimate performances of William Shakespeare’s 12th Night, or What you Will. The play features twins Sebastian and Viola, separated in a shipwreck, who find themselves on opposite sides of Illyria, home to Lady Olivia and Count Orsino.
Viola, disguised as the boy Cesario, is asked by Orsino to woo Olivia on his behalf. Olivia, adamant in her refusal of Orsino, falls for his messenger Cesario, who is unfortunately quite in love with “her” employer. Meanwhile, Olivia’s drunken Uncle Toby has convinced his wealthy friend Andrew that Olivia is in love with him.
The arrival at Oliva’s house of Sebastian, the mirror image of his sister as Cesario, further complicates the matter. Add a snooty servant, a clever handmaid and a musical jester and you have a muddle only Shakespeare could happily resolve.
Shows are at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 16, 17 and 18. General admission tickets are available starting at wwpnorththeater.org for $11.50 or for $12 at the door prior to each performance.

High School South will present Love/Sick by John Cariani. The play is describes as a hilarious yet slightly twisted unromantic comedy, and will be performed at South’s Playhouse on each of the three days at at 7 p.m.
In nine short plays, Love/Sick examines the delicate balance between pain and joy while falling and being in love. On a Friday night in nine parallel, suburban realities, the imperfections of love take form in a couple of “obsessive/impulsives” who can’t fight the urge to kiss, the guy who physically cannot bear to hear the phrase “I love you”, the couple that realizes a little too late that they forgot to have “the baby” and lots more.
The ensemble cast features Satch Berger, Evan Chartock, Gracie Chase, Jordan Hoogsteden, Chloe Jung, Paige Kowalski, Bryce McCreary, Isabelle Meiers, Matthew Odediran, Samuel Ping, Angelica Qin, Kazim Rezvi and Anna Sherman with several actors playing multiple characters.
The production crew includes: stage managers Anika Vincent and Kelly McElroy; student producers Elise Manzari, Shravani Bagawde and Sriya Gopu; costumers Sanya Tejwani and Shriya Syamala; prop team Emma Mattio-Smith and Alexandra Franco; and lighting team Tyler Grabowiecki, Liza Khrypkova, Dana Jung, Eric Tiganila, Nikos Karris-Flores, Justin Cheung, Ben Perez and Simran Salem.
The show is directed by Marilyn Mangone Stoddard and produced by Samantha Silva. Costumes are designed by Kathy Slothower. Jeff Cantor is the set builder and Michael Novak is the lighting coordinator.
